Opening Statement
Seacoast Waldorf School has an opening for a four-day Early Childhood Assistant position in a Nursery classroom with age 2.5 – 4 yr olds. This is a non-exempt, five-day position (Monday – Friday) from 8am – 3:30 pm.
The ideal candidates would have love and patience for small children, possess Waldorf training or childcare-related college courses, and/or have some previous experience working with children. The applicant should possess promptness, reliability, and good time management skills.

Only minutes from the ocean, Seacoast Waldorf School is also centrally located between Boston, MA, Portland, ME, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our school campus is made up of an early childhood/lower school building and upper school building located on 5 acres, surrounded by conservation land with woods, trails, and many opportunities for exploration.
Qualifications
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must pass state of Maine Child Abuse Check and Maine Criminal Record Check/ background clearance. Must be CPR and first aid certified. SWS will provide training if needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical abilities described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Close vision is required for detail work. Required work will take place outside and in a classroom and will frequently be noisy. Working with youth may require exposure to bacterial contamination.
