SUMMARY: The Warehouse / Non-CDL Driver plays a key role in supporting AWISCO’s operations by safely delivering compressed gases and industrial supplies to customers while also assisting with daily warehouse and dock activities. This role ensures accurate, timely deliveries and contributes to efficient, well-organized branch operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivery & Driving
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver compressed gases, cylinders, and industrial/welding supplies to customers across assigned routes.
- Load and secure materials, ensuring safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service for every delivery.
- Obtain customer signatures, follow delivery instructions, and maintain accurate trip/delivery logs.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
Warehouse & Dock Operations
- Loading and offloading cylinders, hardgoods, and supplies.
- Sort, stage, and prepare customer orders for delivery or pickup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and dock area.
- Rotate and restock inventory following AWISCO procedures.
- Perform cylinder inventory counts and support basic inventory control tasks.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment (training provided).
Customer Service & Branch Support
- Greet and assist walk-in customers as needed.
- Communicate effectively with branch team members to resolve order issues.
- Uphold AWISCO’s safety standards, service values, and professional image at all times.
Qualifications / Skills:
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy materials, including compressed gas cylinders (up to 75 lbs.).
· At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, delivery, and material-handling operations preferred.
· Basic knowledge of compressed gases and welding/industrial supplies is a plus.
· Ability to operate or willingness to learn forklifts and material-handling equipment.
· Strong attention to safety, reliability, and customer service.
