JOB TITLE : CDL Class Truck Driver (Union Position)

SUMMARY : The route delivery driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders, welding equipment and industrial supplies to businesses and customers using a company provided straight truck or trailer. The routes will consist of deliveries within the 5 boroughs, and tri-state area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Loads and unloads cylinders and hardgoods for customer orders
• Performs all deliveries while following all vehicle state laws and driving in a safe manner
• Cleans and maintains company vehicles on a daily basis and when necessary
• Fills all vehicles with gas or diesel
• Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of all full and empty cylinders
• Plan trip logistics and obtained necessary documents to transport goods
• Ensure material is secured properly and compliant with safety requirements
• Follow safety procedures for transporting hazardous goods
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle
• Manage bills of lading
• Maintain log books
• Report any incidents to dispatcher
• Report serious mechanical problems to the manager
• Keep truck and equipment tidy and in good working condition
• Relays all customer concerns to management
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
