Role Description The Warehouse Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, WA, responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and ensuring safe, efficient handling of hardwood lumber, mouldings, plywood, and millwork. This role manages receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, and shipping activities while maintaining accurate inventory records and stock locations. The Warehouse Manager will lead, schedule, and develop warehouse team members, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include coordinating forklift and material-handling operations, optimizing space utilization, monitoring order accuracy and turnaround times, and collaborating with sales, milling, and logistics teams to meet customer needs. Qualifications
- Strong inventory-focused skills, including Inventory Control, Inventory Management, and Stock Control, with the ability to maintain accurate counts and efficient stock rotation.
- Operations Management experience overseeing warehouse workflows, staffing, safety practices, and process improvement in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on material handling capabilities, including safe Forklift Operation and familiarity with other warehouse equipment and loading/unloading procedures.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), basic ERP or inventory software, and proficiency with standard office applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email).
- Proven leadership skills, including team supervision, coaching, scheduling, and performance management in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Ability to work safely in a physical environment, including lifting, standing, and operating equipment, and commitment to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with sales, production, and transportation teams and to address customer needs and service issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in logistics, supply chain, or safety (e.g., forklift certification) are preferred.
- Experience in lumber, building materials, or millwork distribution is beneficial and supports quick understanding of products and customer requirements.
