Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Glass Cutter to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for precisely cutting and preparing glass materials for our glass customers. Your expertise will ensure that all glass components meet exact specifications, contributing to the safety, quality, and aesthetic appeal. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects where craftsmanship and accuracy are paramount. This is a full-time Monday to Friday position, with paid holidays and vacation and offers excellent benefits. Must be a team player.
Duties
- Measure and mark glass sheets accurately using dimensional measurement tools to ensure precise cuts.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and finish glass materials according to technical drawings and schematics.
- Handle glass materials carefully to prevent damage during transportation, storage, and installation.
- Assist with the fabrication of glass components for windows, doors, insulated glass, and custom projects in accordance with customer needs.
- Maintain a clean workspace by organizing tools, materials, and debris while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Skilled in using hand tools such as glass cutters, as well as power tools like saws and drills.
- Strong knowledge of glass materials handling techniques to ensure safety and quality control.
- Ability to interpret sales tickets to insure accurately cut glass, mirrors, laminated glass or fire-rated glass.
- Familiarity with measurement techniques for quality control purposes during fabrication.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining attention to detail throughout the project lifecycle.
