Our client, a contract machine shop located in the Bridgeview area, seeks a Quality Control Lead Inspector that is eager to showcase their manufacturing knowledge and leadership skills. This is a 2nd shift opportunity, 4:30PM-3AM Monday-Thursday. This position offers medical, dental, and retirement benefits.Responsibilities• Ensure FAI, in-process, and final inspections meet internal and external specs.• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.• Document nonconformities and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.• Help prepare for and participate in audits-including calibration (internal, customer, third-party).• Lead daily inspection activities on the production floor; coordinate a team of inspectors.• Help maintain inspection procedures, calibration procedures, checklists, and work instructions.• Train and mentor QC and production to uphold quality standards and best practices.Preferred Experience and Qualifications• 3 years in manufacturing quality inspection, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.• Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, height gauges, etc.).• Working knowledge of blueprints and engineering drawings-including GD&T.• Hands-on experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action (CAPA) processes.• Industry-specific experience (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical devices).Bonus Experience• CMM (PC-DMIS) programming/operating skills• ISO familiarity• Prior Lead experienceCompany DescriptionAway Staffing Services is a growing agency that provides permanent manufacturing jobs in the Chicagoland area.
