What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Inspector / CMM Operator position at Away Staffing Services?
Our client, a manufacturer of power-management devices in Evanston, IL, is seeking a Quality CMM Operator / Quality Inspector.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform Inspection of mechanical and electrical material and components including electro-mechanical using full range of inspection and test equipment and gages as directed by supervisor
- Set up and operate CMM using PC-DMIS Software to measure a wide variety of parts
- Prepare dimensional layout reports and inspection studies
- Perform First Piece / Source Inspection layouts and required documentation
- Completing and maintaining inspection files, records, forms and other QA documentation
- Interpret Engineering drawings and specifications make recommendations for improvement
- Participate in problem solving and quality issue investigation on the shop floor
- Some material handling - ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Brown & Sharp CMM with PC-DMIS software is required; Hexagon PC-DMIS certifications and programming experience is preferred.
- Ability to prepare dimensional inspection reports to describe studies or inspection performed by CMM
- Working level experience with mechanical gages, measurement tools and machine shop practices
- Proficient using GD&T with skills interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and design standards.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc.)
- High School graduate or GED is required; Some college or technical training is preferred
- Good problem solving skills and methodology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a willingness to learn new skills and ability to follow our Quality Management System.
