About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Grinding Technician
• Pay Rate Range: $25/Hour
• Location: Maple Plain, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Mon-Fri 6:30AM-4PM with flexible start and end times. O/T is required.
• Position Type: Temp to Hire
Requirements and Qualifications:
Dependable, self-motivated, and eager to learn
Comfortable taking ownership of your work and taking pride in the finished product
Mechanical aptitude – Examples include Rebuilding engines or working on vehicles, fixing small engines or power tools, tinkering with bikes, robotics, or 3D printing o Working with wood or metal in a hobbyist or professional setting
Ability to read precision instruments like micrometers and calipers
Previous machine experience is excellent, but not required
Backgrounds in auto mechanics, machining, mold making, tool & die, or engineering tech all translate well
50lbs lifting and able to stand for most of the shift.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate manual surface grinders to grind steel components to exacting tolerances
Perform heat treating of metals as part of mold preparation
Fit and assemble locks, cams, rails, and precision components into custom injection molds
Work from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions
Collaborate closely with peers and management to complete projects accurately and efficiently
Use micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to ensure precision
Apply basic math and trigonometry to your work (Mastercam or CAD experience is a bonus)
