About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist
• Pay Rate Range: $35.00-$45.00/hour
• Location: Hastings, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
• Position Type: Direct Hire
Requirements and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
1. Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and tooling geometry.
• Expertise in using precision measurement tools.
• Familiarity with various CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas).
2. Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
3. Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
• Experience with G-Code and M-Code programming or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
• Experience with multi-axis or live tooling lathe machines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Setup and Operation:
• Set up and operate CNC lathes (including loading programs, tooling selection, offset adjustments, and fixture setup).
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensional specifications.
• Perform machine start-up and shut-down procedures.
2. Part Production and Quality:
• Machine parts to required specifications and within tight tolerances.
• Monitor the machine during operation, adjusting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut as needed.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or quality issues that arise during the machining process.
3. Maintenance and Safety:
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC lathes to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations and procedures.
• Replace worn tools and inserts as necessary.
4. Program and Documentation:
• Make adjustments to existing CNC programs (e.g., offsets, minor edits) at the machine control.
• Accurately complete all necessary production documentation, logs, and reports.
