Agronomy Sales & Grower Account Manager
Location: Eastern Indiana Region
Employment Type: Full-Time | Sales-Focused (90% Sales / 10% Operational Support)
About the Position
We are seeking an Agronomy Sales & Grower Account Manager to serve as a trusted partner to area farmers and help them reach their agronomic and business goals. In this role, you will build strong relationships with producers, understand the needs of their operations, and provide tailored recommendations using modern agronomy tools and technology platforms.
This position plays a key role in connecting growers with crop input solutions, data insights, and services that improve productivity and profitability across their farms.
Key Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of each grower’s operation, priorities, and decision-making processes.

Conduct routine on-farm visits and maintain communication through calls, texts, and digital tools.

Use agronomy software platforms (AGx, Connect, etc.) to interpret field data and provide accurate, actionable recommendations.

Build individualized Customer Account Plans outlining goals, sales objectives, and seasonal strategies.

Present and promote agronomy products and services that align with each producer’s needs.

Set and achieve sales targets, margin goals, and revenue expectations for assigned accounts.

Maintain organized notes, call records, and account histories using company CRM systems.

Partner closely with operations, grain, energy, and animal nutrition teams to ensure seamless customer service.

Identify service needs, issues, and opportunities and communicate them promptly to management.

Provide dependable support to customers, including addressing concerns and ensuring positive experiences.

Assist with light operational tasks as needed (seed delivery, materials transport, etc.—CDL a plus but not required).

Represent company strategy and communicate changes to customers in a clear, professional manner.
Skills & Qualifications

1–3 years of agronomy or agricultural sales experience preferred.

Working knowledge of crop production, soil sampling, crop growth stages, and basic agronomy principles.

Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Highly organized, able to manage a busy schedule, and comfortable working toward deadlines.

Ability to learn diverse product lines, understand margin expectations, and support profitability goals.

Strong analytical ability and comfort working with numbers and data.

Able to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage a territory.

Willing to work flexible or extended hours during critical growing seasons.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn company-specific software and digital tools.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Ag Business, or related field preferred.

Equivalent experience in crop advising, sales, or farm operations will be considered.
