About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Agronomy Field & Application Associate to join our team. This role focuses on applying crop protection products, dry and liquid fertilizers, and supporting branch operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and values safety and efficiency in all field and shop activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply crop protection products, dry and liquid fertilizers according to agricultural standards
- Maintain and service fertilizer spreaders and application equipment
- Load and unload trucks safely
- Operate and maintain trucks, farm vehicles, and equipment
- Follow HAZMAT and safety protocols, including USDOT and FMCSR standards
- Keep the Branch Manager informed of operational, customer, or equipment issues
- Provide support across multiple locations as needed
- Assist with office, shop, and grounds maintenance
- Help walk-in customers and answer phone inquiries
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Agriculture or farming experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Welding experience a plus
- Ability to operate vehicles with manual transmission
- Experience operating forklifts, skid loaders, and wheel loaders
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Applicator’s License
- Ability to lift 60 lbs and perform repetitive lifting, bending, and reaching
- Ability to read fine print and use a keyboard
- Clear hearing for phone communications
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemical
- Occasional work at heights and in extreme weather conditions
