What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter/Sandblaster position at AW Specialties LLC?
AW Specialties is hiring an experienced Industrial Painter to join our fabrication and coatings team. We are looking for someone who has industrial or automotive paint experience, takes pride in their work, and can work independently.
Our shop paints structural steel, industrial equipment, trailers, fabricated components, and other large industrial products.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for coating by sandblasting, cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and inspecting
- Apply industrial coatings using airless, HVLP, and HTE spray equipment
- Mix paints and coatings to proper ratios and specifications
- Maintain consistent finish quality and coating thickness
- Move and position materials using forklifts or skid steers
- Inspect completed work for runs, coverage, defects, and overall quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work with fabrication and production teams to meet schedules and deadlines
Requirements
- Previous industrial or automotive painting experience required
- Experience with airless, HVLP, and HTE spray systems
- Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant oversight
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Basic math and measuring skills for paint mixing and coating application
- Comfortable working around large fabricated steel components
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in an active shop environment
Preferred Skills
- Forklift or skid steer experience
- Sandblasting experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
