AVS Systems – Riverside, CA
Security company seeking an experienced Network Support Technician for a full time or part-time position. The majority of the support is for Alarm and CCTV security system equipment. Work is performed from AVS office and in the field.
AVS Systems is located in Riverside, CA. We specialize in Security Systems. AVS primarily services the Inland Empire for both commercial & residential properties.
Our office hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
Must have experience in the Security Alarm & Camera industry. We are currently not seeking candidates for training positions.
DUTIES:
- Answer inbound support request calls from AVS customers & employees
- Develop extensive knowledge of AVS Systems varied product lines and troubleshooting processes.
- Be an advocate for our customers, creating peace of mind.
- Educate customers on the use of our systems and products by phone and on-site if needed.
- Accurately document and update records in required systems.
- Pre-configure security and network equipment for employee/client use.
- Assist with product testing and RMA's.
- Assist with "How To" guides.
REQUIREMENTS:
The Technician must be an extremely responsible disciplined self-starter with a good working knowledge of Windows operating systems, basic networking, and common computer peripherals. The Tech must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be highly organized and have the ability to focus and prioritize with strong attention and detail.
- Experience with Ubiquiti Access points and Point to Point antennas.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with setup, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PC software and drivers
- Experience with setup, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of business peripherals
- Understanding and experience with TCP/IP networking- IP addressing, DNS, DHCP
- Understanding and experience with network components - switches, wireless access points, routers
- Understanding of network devices, protocols, services, and security
- Understanding of basic network cabling infrastructure
- Experience with IP and hardwired analog CCTV cameras.
- Some experience with monitored alarm systems.
- Alarm.com experience is a plus.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- General knowledge for basic computer networking.
- Valid & clean CA Driver’s License.
- Must have 2 years of experience.
- Ability to explain technology in an easily understood manner.
- Use consistent good judgment.
- Ability to read, understands, and follow oral and written instruction.
- Self-directed and able to work independently.
- Friendly and courteous at all times.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
