Nursery School Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead our organization in achieving its educational mission and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education administration, curriculum development, and senior leadership. This role requires a visionary leader who can effectively manage resources, inspire staff, and engage with students, parents and the community.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative curriculum strategies that enhance student learning and engagement.
• Oversee fundraising initiatives to support program development and operational needs.
• Lead strategic planning efforts to align organizational goals with educational best practices.
• Provide senior leadership fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Supervise staff, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills.
• Ensure compliance with educational regulations and standards while promoting a safe learning environment.
• Engage with students, parents, and the community through public speaking engagements and outreach programs.
• Utilize classroom experience to inform decision-making and improve instructional practices across the organization.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, child development, education administration or a related field.
• Current EEC PQ Registry *Director
• Participation in professional development workshops and ongoing training as mandated by state or accrediting agencies

Professional Experience

• Several years of classroom experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff or managing teams effectively.
• Exceptional public speaking skills with experience engaging various stakeholders including students, parents, and community members.
• A passion for education with hands-on teaching experience that informs leadership decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels while maintaining a clear vision for the organization’s future.
• CPR and first aid certification
• Successful completion of criminal background checks and child abuse clearances

Skills

• Strong understanding of developmental milestones and best practices for early childhood learning.
• Ability to design, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curricula and enrichment activities.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding childcare, safety and health standards.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills for managing staff, communicating with families and resolving conflicts.
• Ability to handle changing situations and diverse needs in a dynamic environment

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
