Position Title: Long Term Substitute Middle School Art Teacher
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for PK-12 Art (042).
- Degree from an accredidated college or university in Fine Arts, or Education with art as the concentration.
Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Work Year: Position begins August 24, 2026, and ends on or about December 23, 2026. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Responsibilities: The Art Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
- Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's Art curriculum.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
- Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
- Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
