Position Title: Business Teacher Long-Term Substitute
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification (010 or 029)
- Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Business or Mathematics
Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Period of Assignment: Starting as soon as possible and ending on or about December 5, 2025
Responsibilities: The Business Long Term Sub Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
- Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's business curriculum, including personal finance and accounting
- Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
- Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
- Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
