As a Quality Specialist at Avomo, you will play a critical role in the inspection, validation, and conformity control of operations at an autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet management company. You will leverage a unique attention to detail and critical thinking to identify systemic issues and collaborate with operations and engineering to implement sustaining corrective actions. Through experience and analytics, you’ll help guide quality policies and improve upon the inspection methods within the business. Your goal is to be an objective-oriented team player, continuously challenging yourself to drive improvements that align with customer scope and expectations.
Responsibilities:
- You will inspect component-level and integrated components of our customer(s) to ensure they meet process specifications.You will be responsible for ensuring that all customer component-level and integrated components meet specified process requirements through thorough inspection. Customer requirements and quality standards as well as assist in the development of inspection procedures and criteria.
- You will document inspection results, including measurements, observations, and any identified issues leveraging continuous improvement within Avonmo.
- You will communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies, documentation issues, and other potential nonconformities to prevent escapes.
- Key responsibilities include resolving nonconformance and audit issues, ensuring compliance with company, customer, industrial standards, and supporting the documentation of Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- This role will also actively participate in continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- You will collaborate with Avomo cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions with a unique opportunity to influence production process improvements and correct systemic issues.
- Stay updated with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to ISO9001, and IATF16949 quality inspections and policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Operations, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in automotive quality or 5 years of experience of quality management systems in other manufacturing field
- Ability to analyze data or systemic patterns as needed
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read and understand English to provide feedback on technical documents
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a startup development environment
- Experience work with QMS tracking software and basic computer skills
- Experience with the basic quality matrix (i.e. document control, charting, and audit format)
- Certification in ISO9001 or IATF16949 Internal Auditor is a plus
