Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and troubleshooting of HVAC systems using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain HVAC equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and building automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Install new HVAC systems and equipment in residential settings following industry standards and safety protocols.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to prevent future breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with clients to explain repair procedures, provide maintenance recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Keep detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation of all work performed for transparency and quality assurance.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician with strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems including electrical systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems repair.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams.
- Skilled in HVAC system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across various equipment types.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and diagnostic instruments like ohmmeters.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics including electrical system repairs and troubleshooting complex electrical issues.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles, building codes, EPA certification requirements for refrigerants (EPA), and safety standards for field service work.
