System Administrator

Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.

We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous person who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.

Specifically:

• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers in a multi-site enterprise.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and security access rights through Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Apply operating systems updates, security patches and firmware upgrades to maintain systems integrity.
• Plan, implement and test data protection strategies, including system backups and disaster recovery (DR) plans.
• Analyze system logs and employ monitoring tools to identify security threats and improve performance.
• Provide advanced technical support to help desk technicians to resolve endpoint problems.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, user audits, access rights audits, and DR testing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology
• 5 years of Systems Administration experience
• Deep proficiency in Windows Server and Linux systems, including working in virtualized environments
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
• Ability to use languages such as Powershell to automate routine tasks
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
