Position Summary
The LPN plays a vital role in supporting our clients’ mental and emotional well-being. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, the LPN provides direct patient care, assists with psychiatric treatment plans, and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and emotional support to clients in a behavioral health setting.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Observe, document, and report changes in patients’ mental and physical status.
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts as part of the care team.
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families about medications, coping skills, and treatment goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Answer and return patient calls, meeting needs when able, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Assist with medication prior authorizations as needed (experience beneficial).
- Perform or assist with basic phlebotomy procedures (experience a bonus).
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of [State].
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- Prior experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or substance use treatment preferred.
- Medication prior authorization experience beneficial.
- Phlebotomy experience a plus.
