Job Description: AVNIK has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Engineer or Data Analyst to perform sustainment engineering analysis using USG Modeling & Simulation (M&S) tools -- supporting the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM). BS 2Yrs of Experience or MS 0Yrs of Experience.

As a member of our engineering team, you'll be challenged with conducting sustainment analysis for US Military Weapon Systems. The candidate will be performing as part of a data analytic team providing engineering support in logistics, sustainment, and procurement analysis. Candidates must clearly express ideas and concepts, perform as part of a multi-disciplinary team/IPTs/Working Groups, and operate fluidly in a multi-tasking environment - with the ability to identify, research, and analyze data sources/databases to define and extract critical information for engineering analysis.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers to define M&S requirements
• Develop software pipelines to manage M&S environment
• Provide charts, graphs, data analysis and technical/engineering results to leadership and customers
• Interpret M&S results for customer briefing development
• Prepare and present briefings on analysis, current tasks, schedules, and goals
• Provide technical analysis on Army platform logistics and sustainment key performance metrics
• Provide input to team on discussion of technical issues, tasks, briefings, goals, potential funding, etc.
• Resolve technical M&S issues through debugging, research, and investigation
• Manage workload across multiple projects/tasks and meet delivery schedules
• Ability to work independently with self motivation
• Professional communication skills demonstrated on a daily basis
• Document work processes and procedures
  
  

Education & Citizenship Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, etc.), Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field is required and 2 years of experience. MS degree is equal to 2 yrs of experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education. Advanced degree is a plus. Candidate must be a US Citizen

Required Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets is mandatory
• Basic software development skills (e.g., Python)
• Familiarization with Statistical Methods, Analysis and theory (Linear Regression, Confidence Intervals)
• Familiarization with M&S theory (Stochastic, Deterministic, Monte Carlo, Heuristic, Discrete Event)
• Advanced skills with MS Office (PowerPoint)
• Ability to clean and parse large and complex data sets
• Self-starter, independent worker, strong work ethic
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver regular updates and feedback clearly and tactfully is essential.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

• Experience working with databases using SQL queries
• Experience conducting statistical analysis
• Experience with scripting languages - RStudio, other
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) – Magic Draw, Cameo
• Experience writing technical reports and developing customers briefings
• Strong foundation in the key Engineering Principles (Science & Mathematical foundations, Design Principles, etc..)
• Design complex multi-variable algorithms and computational logic to evaluate system behavior and generate reliable results
• Perform model verification and validation to ensure simulation logic, assumptions, inputs, and outputs accurately represent intended system behavior.
• Translate customer objectives and operational needs into measurable analytical requirements, model inputs, assumptions, and evaluation criteria.
• Develop visualizations, technical reports, and executive-level briefings that clearly communicate complex analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Present modeling methodologies, assumptions, limitations, and results to customers, program leadership, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and trade-space analyses to determine the variables and constraints having greatest impact to system performance.
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Ability to successfully complete Background Investigation to include: 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks for continued employment.
• Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. Possession of an INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; Ability to maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is Required.
