Mid Data Analyst to Support the US Army - US Secret Required

Job Description: AVNIK has an immediate opportunity for a mid-level Data Analyst to provide analysis/interpretation using Python and other data science technologies for DoD customers. BS 7Yrs of Experience or MS 5Yrs of Experience.

As a member of our data team, you'll be challenged with conducting analysis for US Army Aircraft, directly supporting the Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Fleet Management Division (AFMD) by performing data analysis activities, using their Sharepoint and excel environments.

The candidate will be working as part of a US Army Sustainment Team providing engineering support in data science, statistics, and sustainment. Ability to identify, research, and analyze data sources/databases to define and extract critical information for engineering analysis and visualization via dashboards. It is essential for the candidate to establish and maintain close relationships with internal Government personnel. Candidates must clearly express ideas and concepts, perform as part of a multi-disciplinary team/IPTs/Working Groups, and operate fluidly in a multi-tasking environment.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers to define requirements
• Develop data pipelines for analysis tooling requirements
• Data workflow consists of data acquisition, pre-processing/transformations, core analysis, post-processing, visualizations/dashboards
• Provide charts, graphs, data analysis and technical/engineering results to leadership and customers
• Interpret results for customer briefing development
• Prepare and present briefings on analysis, current tasks, schedules, and goals
• Provide input to team on discussion of technical issues, tasks, briefings, goals, potential funding, etc.
• Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
• Manage workload across multiple projects/tasks and meet delivery schedules
• Ability to work independently with self-motivation
• Professional communication skills demonstrated on a daily basis
  
  

Education & Citizenship Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, etc.), Applied Mathematics, or related technical field is required and 7 years of experience. MS degree is equal to 2 yrs of experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education. Advanced degree is a plus. Candidate must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance.

Required Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets is mandatory
• Advanced software development skills (e.g., Python) is mandatory
• Experience working with databases using SQL queries
• Advanced experience with data analysis - Machine Learning in Python (Sci-Kit Learn, PyTorch, Keras, etc.)
• Advanced experience with designing and developing visualization processes, translating business requirements into interactive reports and dashboards (Power BI)
• Designing Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize data
• Embedding Power BI reports within SharePoint pages
• Maintaining data connections to ensure accurate analysis, all with the goal of providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, such as Tokenization/Vectorization, Semantic Search, Clustering, etc.
• Ability to clean and parse large and complex data sets
• Skilled with SharePoint Administration
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant data base experience and familiarity are required.
• Self-starter, independent worker, strong work ethic
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver regular updates and feedback clearly and tactfully is essential.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
• Advanced skills with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, MS Project)
  

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity working for US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) or Army Program Management Office
• Familiarity with Army program office processes and database support operations
• Prior experience in Army aviation maintenance or logistics is preferred
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Ability to successfully complete Background Investigation to include: 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks for continued employment.
• Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. Possession of an INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; Ability to maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is Required.
