As Director of Volunteer Services, you’ll lead Avivo’s volunteer and in-kind donation programs, creating meaningful opportunities for community engagement and ensuring resources flow to those who need them most. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you’ll shape volunteer experiences, build partnerships, and strengthen Avivo’s mission impact.
What You’ll Do
- Design and manage Avivo’s volunteer program, aligning goals with organizational needs.
- Develop strategies to recruit, onboard, and recognize volunteers.
- Oversee in-kind donation programs and cultivate corporate partnerships.
- Lead volunteer engagement for special events, including the Wells Fargo Backpack Picnic.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate volunteers into service delivery.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through culturally responsive practices.
- Stay current on trends in volunteerism and apply best practices.
- This position is a 32 hr. work week but paid for 40 hrs.
What We’re Looking For
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED 8 years in volunteer management or community engagement, OR
- Associate degree 6 years, OR
- Bachelor’s degree 5 years.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience (including interns or project teams).
- Experience managing in-kind donation programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse communities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
