Housekeeper

Aviva Senior Living is hiring for a Full-time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide position. Schedule will be Saturday-Wednesday 9am-5:30pm.

Position Overview

The Housekeeper performs the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing this facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Environmental Services and the Housekeeping Supervisor, to assure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe manner.

 
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

• Performs cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Observes waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assists in proper care of housekeeping equipment.
• Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
• Reports any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.
• Uses housekeeping supplies efficiently.
• Observes infection control procedures related to Housekeeping Department.
• Reports for work in neat, clean attire and consistently presents an appropriate professional appearance.
• Reports for work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
• Consistently works cooperatively with residents, residents’ representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
• Coordinates daily housekeeping services with nursing director when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Agrees not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Follows Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
• Reports suspected resident abuse immediately to the Administrator.

Educational/Professional Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent education preferred.
• Minimum three months of assisted/skilled nursing housekeeping experience also preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must follow material safety data sheets (MSDS)/safety data sheets (SDS), operate housekeeping equipment safely, and follow facility safety program.
• Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
• Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping staff and as assigned.
• Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
