Aviva Senior Living is looking for an Activities Assistant that will support the Life Enrichment program in providing a social and activity program within our community.
- Assists with planning, coordinating activities: reality orientation, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events, and one-to-one visits, as indicated.
- Assists with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter.
- Performs and directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
- Maintains accurate documentation of resident’s activity attendance.
- Plans and coordinates activities with the support of other Life Enrichment/Activities team members.
- Assist with coordinating special events (such as family nights and private resident parties).
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be available to work nights and/or weekend schedules, depending on scheduled events and department needs.
- One year’s experience in a social or recreational program in a senior health care setting.
- Must have working knowledge of appropriate Microsoft Office programs.
- Must possess high energy/enthusiasm, decision making, problem solving, planning/organization, and rapport building skills.

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push residents in wheelchairs. Must be able to read and speak English. Must be able to hear, and be able to sit and walk intermittently throughout the day.
Salary : $19 - $20
