Aviva Metals is a state-of-the foundry located in Lorain, OH. Over the past 30 years, Aviva Metals has experienced tremendous growth and earned a worldwide reputation for being the leaders in the industry for maintaining huge inventories of brass, bronze and specialty copper alloys. As we continue to grow, it has become necessary to increase our headcount to support our production goals.
Job Summary: Driver/General Utility
You will be responsible for driving two types of company- trucks to include a 10,000 lb. load capacity and/or 2,400 lb. load capacity to deliver and to pick-up production supplies, foundry equipment, customer orders, and general goods and services. When not driving, you will be required to perform basic general utility duties in an industrial environment.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate company vehicles under insurance. Basic mechanical ability. Good time management skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Experience in driving manual (gear shift and clutch) as well as automated gear boxes. Load distribution and strapping on a flat bed desired. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
Plans and completes an efficient delivery and/or pick-up route for the day.
Loads delivery vehicle with material scheduled for delivery.
Picks up orders along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
Assists in general maintenance duties as needed, i.e. filter changes, water samples, greasing machines, general yard and building maintenance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Monday/Friday
30-minute unpaid lunch required.
