We’re currently seeking a dedicated OB Tech to join our Obstetrics Department at our Galion location.
Position Overview
The OB Technician assists the OB/GYN physicians and RNs in both clinical and clerical duties. Performs selected patient care tasks within the OB Unit under the supervision of the OB Nurse Manager including but not limited to preparing patients and equipment for special obstetric surgical procedures, assisting the obstetrical surgical team as a scrub during Cesarean Sections and other surgical procedures in the OB Unit, maintaining surgical and other equipment and ensuring adequate supply levels for the OB surgical room at all times.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current BLS certification or within three (3) months of hire date.
- Previous experience working as a Unit Clerk, STNA, Surgical Tech or Medical Assistant.
- High School graduate or GED program.
Preferred:
- Current Certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or applicable work experience working as a Nursing Assistant, Unit Clerk, Surgical Tech or Medical Assistant.
- Previous experience working on an Obstetrics Unit.
- One year experience as an OB Tech/Scrub Tech.
- LPN but not required
