What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marina Equipment Operator position at Avista Marina?
The Marina Equipment Operator / Attendant assists with everyday marina operations by operating equipment utilized for boat movement, storage, and maintenance. Working closely with dock employees and the Dock Master to encourage teamwork and effective operations, this role may be seasonal during the busiest operating months of spring, summer, and fall. This position helps oversee boat movements, and make sure all operations comply with Avista Marina's safety standards and environmental laws. Supporting customer arrivals and departures, helping with special requests, keeping accurate operational and incident records, and making wise decisions in a hectic waterfront setting while leading by example are additional duties. The position is offered as a full time or part time job.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate forklifts, trailers, tractors and other marina equipment safely
- Assist with launching, hauling, and relocating vessels
- Perform basic equipment inspections and report mechanical issues
- Maintain safe work zones around operating equipment
- Ensure dock safety, marina policies, and environmental policies.
- Ensures customers arrivals, departers, and special requests are met.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Forklift certification required
- Knowledge of marina equipment and boat handling
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks
- Ability to perform well with others in stressful environments

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Hourly rate based on experience and certifications
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
