We currently have an opportunity on our Revenue and Financial Systems team. This team is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of retail revenue, including key areas such as unbilled revenue, decoupling, and bad debt expense. The team also manages the general ledger and plays a critical role in the monthly close, quarterly regulatory reporting processes, and SEC financial reporting, including the preparation and support of disclosures, tie-outs, analysis, and controls supporting external filings. In addition, the Revenue and Financial Systems team provides oversight and maintenance of select financial systems and serves as the primary liaison between the accounting organization and the information technology group.
This role is well-suited for an accounting professional who is comfortable working with financial systems and evolving technology and who brings a continuous improvement mindset. Successful candidates demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance data quality while supporting accounting, reporting, and business needs in a changing systems environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to learn quickly, leverage technology and data effectively, and contribute to process improvements that strengthen controls, streamline workflows, and support timely, accurate financial information.
Preferred experience in prior utility and/or revenue accounting, specifically in unbilled revenue and decoupling.

Prepare and review monthly close entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Analyze accounting transactions, identify issues, research applicable guidance, and recommend appropriate resolutions.

Support compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and SOX procedures.

Collaborate with internal customers, auditors, regulators, and cross functional teams to support business and reporting needs.

Contribute to process improvements, efficiencies, and documentation across accounting activities.

Support the modernization of accounting processes and data through financial systems and technology-enabled solutions.

Support the transition of accounting processes and data from legacy systems to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting standards.

Assist with ERP configuration, testing, and implementation activities related to general ledger, projects, fixed assets, revenue, and related accounting processes.

Collaborate with Accounting, Information Technology, and business partners to map current processes to ERP functionality and identify process improvements and efficiencies.

Support data conversion, reconciliation, internal controls, and SOX compliance activities associated with ERP implementation and ongoing system enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, accounting, general business, tax, statistics or a related field is required.
- 5 years of accounting experience.
- Considerable knowledge of the theory and practices of related accounting field.
- Demonstrated depth of technical competency indicating mastery of the theory and practice of the subject area.
- Demonstrated knowledge and big picture understanding of major business processes and operations.
Hiring Range: $88,336 to $114,838

Masters in accounting, finance, economics, general business, tax, or statistics preferred.

Utility revenue accounting experience preferred, with decoupling experience strongly desired.
Hiring Range: $100,378 to $131,496
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with additional day(s) determined by the manager.
