A leading university is seeking a Finance Associate. The successful candidate will provide part-time accounting and financial support, including processing transactions, managing reimbursements, and ensuring compliance with university policies. The company offers a great work environment!
Finance Associate Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting and finance-related support to a department, unit, or program.
- Review, process, gather, and compile accounting transactions and documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with university policies and federal regulations.
- Administer and process travel cards and expense reimbursements.
- Establish accounts in financial systems and prepare invoices as needed.
- Monitor accounting systems for clearing and outstanding items.
- Maintain departmental financial files, desktop procedures, and process documentation.
- Review transactions, supporting documents, and journal postings for consistency, accuracy, and proper authorization.
- Respond to transactional inquiries from client groups and resolve issues or escalate as appropriate.
- Attend occasional on-site meetings.
- Support other accounting or finance-related duties as assigned.
Finance Associate Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in Accounting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and financial compliance standards.
- Proficiency with computerized office applications and accounting systems (e.g., Oracle Financials preferred).
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing financial transactions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and client groups.
Finance Associate Shift:
- 5 days per week and 4 hrs/day during office hours
