What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Financial Planning & Business Analytics position at Avis / Budget Canada?
Driven to be the Best
People. Performance. Purpose.
At Avis Budget Group, we’re driven to be the best vehicle rental company in the world, together. Our 25,000 employees raise the bar every day, bringing different perspectives, taking ownership, and leading with integrity. We’re defining the future of mobility with safe, sustainable solutions that move people, businesses, and communities forward.
This is a critical leadership role at the center of how we run the business.
We are looking for a high-horsepower operator who can own the core FP&A engine while building a modern, insight-driven analytics capability from the ground up. This individual will act as a key partner to senior leadership, a driver of execution across the organization, and a builder of both systems and teams.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a build, transform, and lead role.
You will be expected to step in, create structure where it doesn’t exist, elevate how we plan and analyze the business, and develop into a future senior leader of the company.
This role reports to the Vice President, Americas Finance.
What You'll Do:
Run the FP&A Engine
Own and drive the company’s forecasting, annual planning, and long-range strategic planning processes
Act as the operational backbone of FP&A—ensuring timelines are met, outputs are sharp, and the organization stays aligned
Partner directly with senior leadership to translate business performance into clear financial direction
Build a Best-in-Class Reporting & Consolidation Function
Lead consolidation across multiple business units, bringing clarity and accountability to financial performance
Redesign our reporting suite from the ground up—moving from static outputs to dynamic, decision-oriented insights
Create a modern view into the business that leaders can actually use to run it
Create a Real Analytics Capability
Stand up and lead a centralized analytics function that pulls from all available data sources—regardless of system or structure
Move beyond reporting into true insight generation: identifying opportunities, risks, and performance drivers
Build tools, dashboards, and scalable solutions that elevate decision-making across the organization
Build and Lead a High-Performance Team
Recruit and develop a team of hungry, high-potential analysts
Set a high bar for performance, ownership, and intellectual rigor
Actively develop future leaders—this role is a feeder for broader leadership within the company
Perks You’ll Get:
Access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insurance
Eligible to elect other voluntary benefits including: Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coverages
401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributions
Full training to learn the business and enhance professional skills
Employee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget cars
Access to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and more
What We're Looking For:
High horsepower: you process information quickly, connect dots others miss, and thrive in complex environments
Builder mentality: you don’t wait for perfect structure—you create it
Operator + thinker: you can run disciplined processes while also stepping back to see the bigger picture
Low ego, high ownership: you take responsibility, drive outcomes, and elevate the people around you
Future leader: you have the ambition and capability to grow into a senior leadership role
We care less about exact industry experience and more about:
Drive, curiosity, and intellectual horsepower
A bias for action and ownership
The ability to quickly learn a business and challenge assumptions
The annual starting salary for this position is between $160,000 – $200,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
