Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in both full-time and per diem roles. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care and works effectively under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Instruct patients in therapeutic activities to enhance strength, coordination, and independence
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates or concerns to the Occupational Therapist
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Texas COTA license (or eligibility)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a team
- Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings preferred
