Position Overview
The Assistant Teacher supports the daily care, supervision, and learning environment of the classroom while developing foundational skills in early childhood education.
This role is essential to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and well-functioning classroom and serves as the entry point on the school’s Career Ladder.
Key Responsibilities Child Supervision & Safety
- Maintain active supervision and ensure a safe classroom environment at all times
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Establish strong routines and classroom structure
Curriculum & Instruction
- Assist with daily routines including arrival, meals, toileting, naps, and transitions
- Support classroom setup, cleanup, and organization
- Help prepare materials and learning areas
Relationships & Guidance
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children
- Use positive guidance strategies as directed by Lead Teacher
- Model calm, respectful communication
Family Communication
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with families
- Share updates on children’s progress and classroom activities
- Maintain confidentiality and strong professional boundaries
Professional Responsibilities
- Complete required documentation and observations
- Participate in training, coaching, and evaluations
- Maintain compliance with all Avimor Academy policies and standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Ability to meet all Idaho Child Care Licensing requirements
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, Monday–Friday (shift may vary)
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications
