Medical Biller will be responsible for assisting in all back office revenue cycle functions such as entering patient and insurance information, submitting claims, taking, and posting payments, performing insurance follow-up, reviewing, and submitting medical records, patient inquiries, and other billing duties as assigned. The candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and focused on providing exceptional customer service. The candidate should have experience with hospital billing and e Clinical works billing software. The Medical Biller will also be responsible for always maintaining and promoting HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Keys charge information into entry program and produces billing.
- Researches all information needed to complete billing process.
- Makes corrections to claims, submitting claims for reconsideration and/or appeals.
- Processes and distributes copies of billings according to practice policies.
- Assists error resolution.
- Maintains required billing records, reports, files.
- Medical terminology and a strong knowledge of modifiers
- Minimum of 1 year experience in insurance billing preferred.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in physician insurance billing and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Ability to work medical insurance denials and appeals.
- Familiar with CPT and ICD10 coding.
- Ability to research and analyze patient accounts.
- Ability to provide high-quality telephone service- positive and attentive communications with patients and other internal and external customers.
- Ability to research and analyze payer medical policy and guidelines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Exhibits teamwork and excellent customer service and communication skills for both internal and external customers.
- Ability to participate and communicate in cross-functional medical billing team.
- Adhere to government regulations related to medical billing and coding (e.g. HIPAA, Fraud &Abuse).
- Other duties related to medical billing and accounts receivable as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience and/or education related to physician/ medical billing and accounts receivable follow-up – min. 3 year.
- Knowledge of medical insurance- Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, HMO, PPO, Workers’ Compensation, and Auto carriers.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet timelines.
EXPERIENCE:
- Medical billing: 2 years (Preferred)
- Medical collection: 2 years (Preferred)
- Advanced MD experience(Preferred) or E-Clinical
