The Group Home Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of a residential group home, providing direct support and care to adults with developmental disabilities. This is a live-in position, requiring the manager to reside on-site with the individuals they care for, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality care at all times. The Group Home Manager oversees daily operations, implements individualized programs, monitors medical and behavioral needs, and promotes independence for each resident. They serve as the primary point of contact for staff, families, and regulatory authorities while maintaining accurate records, managing budgets, and fostering a safe and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities include training support staff, coordinating resident care and activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, preparing meals, supervising behavior programs, and being available on-call 24/7 for emergencies or concerning situations.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–4 years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience

- Resident Care: Ability to assist with personal care routines, monitor medical needs, administer medications, and implement individualized programs.
- Leadership & Supervision: Train support staff, foster teamwork, and ensure progress toward resident goals.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and external connections.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess and respond to emergency situations, make practical decisions, and resolve conflicts.
- Financial Responsibility: Track and manage budgets, maintain resident allowances, and ensure proper use of resources.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational, safety, and state regulations; maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Flexibility & Availability: Live-in role requires on-site presence 24/7 and being on-call for emergencies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or move objects up to 50 lbs independently.
- Physical demands include walking, standing, reaching, stooping, lifting, and other moderate physical activity.
Technical & Other Requirements
- Basic computer & phone skills (MS TEAMS, email, text, call).
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports, complete daily charting, follow safety instructions, and documentation on paper and digitally.
REQUIREMENTS

- Successful completion of a pre-employment and annual background screening
