Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our passionate teaching team. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm for early learning, supports classroom routines with intention, and builds positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities
- Assist with classroom management, transitions, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment
- Foster positive and respectful interactions with children, encouraging social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Support children with routines such as meals, toileting, rest time, and clean-up
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a collaborative, supportive work culture
- Help observe and document children’s progress under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or childcare setting
- A genuine love for working with young children and a belief in play-based learning
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children at their level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must meet Ohio licensing requirements, including background checks and trainings
