Position Overview:
AVID Behavioral Day Program is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Direct Care Staff to support individuals with developmental and/or behavioral challenges in a structured day program setting. This role focuses on promoting independence, social skills, and community integration while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and support to program participants
- Assist individuals with daily living skills, including personal care as needed
- Implement individualized behavior support plans and interventions
- Facilitate group activities that promote socialization, communication, and life skills
- Support participants during community outings and activities
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily notes and incident reports
- Ensure a safe, clean, and respectful environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families/caregivers
- Follow all program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges preferred
- Strong communication, patience, and problemsolving skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if transporting participants is required)
- Ability to pass background check and meet state clearance requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- RBT Certificate
