JOB TITLE: Simulation Systems Technician II

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None
The Simulation Systems Technician II performs operation, maintenance, and technical support for the C-5 Training System (TS), ensuring all training devices are safe, reliable and fully mission capable.
Essential Functions of the Position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required for a Simulation Systems Technician II. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Perform readiness checks, power-up and shut-down procedures, and basic diagnostics for training devices.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on ATS and MTS devices, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and correct issues involving computers, networks, I/O, and simulation subsystems
• Document discrepancies, maintenance actions, and parts usage in the approved maintenance tracking system
• Support demonstrations, investigations, tours, and other special events as required
• At some locations, serve as Site ISSO to support ACAS scans and cybersecurity updates in accordance with program guidance
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
The following are the requisite education and/or experience required to qualify for the position as a Simulation Systems Technician II.
- Typically 3-5 years of experience maintaining simulators, avionics, or electronic/ electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical orders, schematics and engineering documentation.
- Vocational, military, or associate-level training in electronics, avionics, information systems, or related field preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required.
