Position Title: Explosive Test Instrumentation Scientist/Engineer
Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Scientist or Engineer to join our diverse team, in Huntsville, AL., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.
Position Description
This position focuses on the execution of data collection activities for explosive and propulsion test efforts for the Weapon Analysis and Evaluation Division of the U.S. Army DEVCOM AvMC. Duties include: calibration of pressure transducers, load cells, strain gauges, and other electronic instrumentation related to testing of energetics; operation of visual data collection devices to include standard and high-speed video cameras and digital photography; support of remote testing across the range of U.S. military weapon systems to include the logistics of transport, test setup, data collection, and data analysis. Networking and information technology skills are a plus due to the increasing interoperability of networked items

Location:
- Redstone Arsenal- Huntsville, AL
- Position is full-time in office.
Basic Qualifications (required):
- Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in science or engineering field.
- Must be able to lift weights IAW MIL-STD-1472, generally 56 lbs. above the floor, 87 lbs. 3 ft. above the floor, and carry 82 lbs. 33 ft. or less.
- Resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate.
- Good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from an ABET- accredited university.
- Graduating GPA of 3.5
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.
- Must be able to lift/ carry up to 87 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
- Citizenship: Candidate must be a US only citizen.
- Clearance level: possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret or Top Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
