Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quoting and Estimating Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and profitable job quotations, evaluating the cost of parts and labor, and assisting with purchasing materials to ensure cost efficiency and timely project completion. The ideal candidate has a background in aviation purchasing, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely, and competitive quotes for client jobs.
· Maintain accurate data in internal systems and spreadsheets
- Evaluate material, labor, and overhead cost and lead times to ensure profitability and compliance with company standards.
- Analyze client specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and management teams to ensure accurate cost estimates.
- Research and source materials, parts, and components from approved suppliers.
- Assist with purchasing responsibilities, ensuring materials are procured at the most competitive prices to optimize profit margins.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor and pricing databases for future quoting and purchasing efficiency.
- Ensure all quotes and purchase records are documented accurately within the company’s system.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal departments to clarify requirements and timelines.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Communicating with suppliers to obtain pricing and availability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in quoting, estimating, or pricing analysis required, preferably within the aviation or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of parts pricing, labor evaluation, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general office software.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
