Job Description

The ABS General Manager will be responsible for all technical performance and be actively involved in growing revenue, metric development and profitability of ABS. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while driving business growth, customer satisfaction, and organizational excellence. Serving as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, the GM integrates business development, operational management, and regulatory oversight into one cohesive leadership function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and refine ABS’s long-term strategic business plan, policies, and procedures to achieve First Aviation’s growth and financial return objectives.
• Drive profitability by aligning resources with customer delivery standards and cost goals.
• Ensure compliance with company business systems by partnering with system owners and auditing team performance against standards.
• Develop and track performance metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic oversight and make daily operational decisions that shape the site’s quality, efficiency, and financial performance.
• Oversee and coordinate production, quality, and engineering activities to ensure customer service goals are consistently achieved.
• Maintain product quality through effective process controls and ongoing personnel training.
• Ensure all equipment is properly monitored, maintained, and readily available for operations.
• Manage workforce levels to meet productivity targets while maintaining flexibility to support business growth.
• Provide technical expertise and support as needed.
• Control operational budgets by using financial data to improve profitability.
• Control the cost of materials by reducing rework and other related wastes of poor process control.
• Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean principles that are in alignment with the company’s strategic initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with ITAR, EAR, EPA, Florida DEP, California OSHA, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
• Develop and monitor the key performance metrics of the business. Work with ABS’s management and supervisor team to meet all key performance metrics and to provide regular performance reports to First Aviation executives.
• Support the business mission and vision of First Aviation by modeling desired behaviors, communicating, and reinforcing key messages through daily activities and interactions.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, quality or similar technical field, or relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience with at least 5 years of production management.
• FAA 145 Repair Station experience required – preferable in the rotorcraft market.
• Strong background in LEAN manufacturing with demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement activity resulting in significant business gains.
• Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor employee team members.
• Proficient in all MS Office Products.
