About the Role: Technical PLM plays a crucial role in our organization's product development and management process. You will bridge the gap between our technical teams and various stakeholders to ensure the successful development and delivery of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Bringing decisions/prioritization needs within the product line to the Product Marketing PLM as needed.
- Handling all product requirement-related functions in the product requirement tool (currently Jama), based on market requests from the Product Marketing PLM
- Participating in Voice of the Customer (VOC) activities, providing technical support, and gathering technical needs from customers.
- Play a key role in product launches, coordinating activities such as training and documentation
- Be the technical resource contact point for any PLM, TAC or Sales questions about the product.
- Engaging with customers when demanded, e.g., for business-critical or critical issues.
- Updating product technical documentation (manuals, datasheets, software packages, release notes, EOL notices, with phase-in/phase-out plans, product ordering guide), and maintaining and managing the product technical information on the Aviat resource center.
- Updating and maintaining the product roadmap (technical content and release timing). Communicate product updates and technical changes effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Creating and maintaining Software Release Notes for the product line.
- Publishing technical sales bulletins and hosting technical Sales-Engineering Connect sessions to facilitate knowledge transfer between sales engineering and sales & engineering.
- Supporting technical content for case studies, white papers, product ordering guide etc., requiring technical content.
- Participate in quality assurance processes, ensuring that the final product meets technical specifications and quality standards and monitor product quality through its lifecycle.
- Representing Product Management in engineering processes such as issue reviews, software and hardware release meetings, and participating in technical project meetings.
- Managing product part numbers creation and/or maintenance in databases
- Owning and managing product licensing.
- Managing the feature backlog (based on Marketing PLM priorities) - translate customer needs and market demands into actionable technical requirements.
- Auditing/accepting Engineering work to ensure alignment with requirements.
- Monitor post-launch product performance, gather feedback, and drive ongoing product improvements.
- Support to mitigate component shortages.
- Leading cost reduction discussions and plans
- Providing part numbers and/or high-level instructions to Pricing & Data Analyst for product line and product feature order, backlog, and funnel tracking.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to the product domain.
- Continuously assess and improve internal product management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Education: engineering degree/ certification preferred
- Experience: at least 5 years in technical and/or engineering development environment
- Industry: telecommunication mandatory; microwave specialisation preferred
- Supervisor: no experience required (no direct reports)
- Travel: occasional
