Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing rear farms for the arrival of new flocks.
- Set up, position, and test farm equipment, including feeders, drinkers, brooders, barriers, and other required equipment.
- Help inspect barns and equipment to identify maintenance or setup needs.
- Assist Farm Leads and Setup Crew Leads with completing assigned farm-preparation tasks.
- Provide guidance and support to setup crew members as directed by the Setup Crew Lead.
- Load, unload, move, organize, and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Confirm that equipment is operating correctly and report damaged or malfunctioning items.
- Help maintain an accurate inventory of setup equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Follow company safety, biosecurity, sanitation, and animal-welfare procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized barns, vehicles, work areas, and storage locations.
- Complete required checklists, records, and other setup documentation.
- Communicate setup progress, equipment issues, and supply needs to the appropriate lead or supervisor.
- Travel between farm locations as needed to support setup activities.
- Perform other farm-setup and operational duties as assigned.
- Ability to handle moderate to physical work
- Must be able to complete repetitive work and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
- Must be able to perform tasks with limited supervision
- Proven reliability in work attendance and willingness to give best effort
- Must have own reliable transportation
