Custodian

Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a professional Janitor able of attending to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. This is part-time position.

• Must be able to perform all phases of cleaning, including, but not limited to:
  • Maintaining floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and/or waxing
  • Dusting wooden surfaces
  • Emptying and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking consumables in bathrooms and kitchens
  • Replacing light bulbs and changing filters
  • Cleaning windows
• Responding to special requests such as emergency clean-up or event preparation
• Cleaning and servicing custodial equipment as needed
• Performing minor repairs on furniture, buildings, appliances, fixtures, and equipment
• Reporting any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards
• Ensuring grounds areas are clean and orderly, including shoveling snow and sweeping entry-way
• Comply with Company Bio-Security Rules and Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, Animal Welfare Policies and all other Procedures and Standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
• Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work
• Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
• Prioritization and time management skills
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality
