Accounting Internship, Avflight - Summer 2027

Job Summary:
As an Accounting Intern, you will gain experience through hands-on exposure and support general accounting principles and functions, including various duties within Billing, Credit, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable divisions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Learn about Journal entries with proper supporting detail and support General Ledger Maintenance
- Learn about monthly close, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets providing assistance where necessary
- Learn actual to budget variance analysis and Financial Statements
- Support to reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
- Create customer invoices and exposure to varied billing arrangements
- Assist with research, correcting billing, inventory, and tax discrepancies
- Cash application and batch reconciliation
- Data entry utilizing Excel and Accounting software
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Effectively communicate with operational team and management
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting rules, standards, and procedures a plus
- Prior Internship experience or related past employment a plus but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal Skills with a positive attitude
- Strong organization Skills
- Works well in a team environment and as an individual
- Microsoft Office Proficient (Excel, Word, Outlook), knowledge of accounting software a plus
- Ability to work prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail is a must
Education and Experience:
- Completion of Junior year at an accredited university in pursuit of a Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Business or related field
- GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale)
