Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operator plays a key role in supporting the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the organization. This position is responsible for handling raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, hazardous waste, and other supplies. You will assist in ensuring that materials are properly managed, stored, and delivered to the right departments, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements. The Warehouse Operator will also assist with inventory management and coordinate shipments to support production and R&D needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming freight against packing slip information to ensure accuracy.
- Receive and process freight against purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Ensure proper storage and delivery of materials to designated areas.
- Use drum carts, hand trucks, forklifts, and other equipment to move, transport, and weigh materials and products.
- Prepare and document orders for Production and R&D, ensuring timely delivery.
- Prepare finished goods for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Receive and deliver FedEx packages in a timely manner.
- Handle and store controlled substances in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods between warehouses as needed.
- Perform ERP system transactions to issue orders and create labels for Production and R&D orders.
- Assist with cycle counting and physical inventory to maintain accurate stock records.
- Monitor hazardous waste accumulation areas and coordinate the safe shipment of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve all goals and ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all safety regulations and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Operate in alignment with the company's Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, and all regulatory compliance standards.
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years of warehouse experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
- Forklift experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and manuals.
- Effective communication skills to interact with employees across the organization.
- Proficient in using computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and inventory management systems like JD Edwards or similar platforms.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations, cGMPs, and SOPs relevant to the position.
- Highly detail-oriented with flexibility to perform various tasks as needed.
