Position Summary
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician II independently performs sterile and hazardous drug batch compounding within a 503B outsourcing facility. This role executes complex aseptic operations, ensures batch documentation accuracy, and supports environmental monitoring and deviation investigations under the direction of the Compounding Pharmacist
Key Responsibilities
- Independently compound sterile and hazardous drug batches per approved batch records
- Handle HD APIs and finished formulations in compliance with USP <800>
- Verify materials, calculations, and batch setup prior to compounding
- Complete batch records with full GDP compliance and inspection readiness
- Participate in and support environmental monitoring, investigations, and corrective actions
- Identify and escalate deviations, EM excursions, or process risks
- Support onboarding and hands-on training of Technician I staff
- Maintain aseptic technique and compliance during FDA and internal audits
- Support equipment cleaning, sanitization, and room readiness
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration
- Minimum 2 - 4 years sterile compounding experience
- Demonstrated competency in cGMP, USP <797> and <800> requirements
- Media fill and fingertip qualification in current cycle
Preferred Qualifications
- CSPT certification
- cGMP experience
- Experience in FDA-registered 503B operations
- Familiarity with batch manufacturing scale operations
