Position Summary
We are seeking a visionary leader to head the Avgen Diagnostics Strategic Business Unit
(SBU). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in multi-omics platforms and a proven
ability to drive innovation in diagnostics, oversee R&D excellence, manage specialized services
and lead business development initiatives to establish a global presence for Avgen Diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
Research and Development (R&D):
– Lead innovative research in multi-omics platforms, including genomics, transcriptomics,
proteomics and metabolomics.
– Develop cutting-edge molecular diagnostics and predictive tools for healthcare
applications.
– Drive biomarker discovery initiatives and precision medicine solutions.
– Publish impactful research findings and foster collaborations with academic and industrial
stakeholders.
– Secure research grants and funding to enhance the SBU’s capabilities.
Diagnostics Services And Business Development
– Oversee the development and delivery of scalable, precision-focused diagnostic services.
– Build strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, research institutions and biotech
firms.
– Expand the business network and grow the client base to capture market share in India, as
well as in international markets including the Rest of the World (ROW), Europe and the
US.
– Drive revenue growth and ensure the fulfilment of company deliverables.
– Lead business development efforts to position Avesthagen as a global leader in multi-
omics diagnostics.
– Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely delivery of high-quality services and
projects.
Strategic And Operational Leadership
– Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the SBU’s R&D and business objectives.
– Manage multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and excellence.
– Upgrade laboratory infrastructure to support advanced research and diagnostic services.
– Team-building activity.
Education
Candidate Qualifications:
– Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology
or related fields, ideally from a reputed institute (e.g., IIT).
– An MBA or equivalent management qualification from IIM or a comparable institute is
preferred.
Experience
– A minimum of 10 years of experience in R&D within the life sciences or diagnostics
sector, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
– Expertise in multi-omics technologies, including NGS, mass spectrometry and
bioinformatics.
Preferred Skills And Competencies
– Proficiency in omics data integration and analysis using advanced bioinformatics tools.
– Familiarity with molecular diagnostic platforms and trends in personalized medicine.
– Proven track record in securing research funding and managing collaborative projects.
