Job Overview
Avery United Methodist Church is seeking a welcoming, motivated, and organized Administrative Assistant to fill a part-time position in the church office and as assistant to the pastor. The ideal candidate would possess strong interpersonal and communication skills in writing and verbally; have experience as an administrative assistant or similar role; be able to multi-task; can work both under direction and independently; and understand and respect for the ministry philosophy, mission, and programs of the church and a willingness to support them.
Duties
- Assist with front desk responsibilities, including greeting visitors and answering phone calls.
- Create, prepare, or update printed and online materials and publications.
- Proofread documents for accuracy and clarity before distribution.
- Coordinate the church calendar of events.
- Handle general office management and clerical duties.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Creativity and ability to use Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft software.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
