As a Certified Behavior Technician (CBT)/Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral therapy to individuals, particularly children, with developmental disabilities and autism. You will work closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement individualized treatment plans and support clients in achieving their goals. Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by BCBAs, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Assist clients with daily living skills to promote independence and enhance daily functioning.
- Collect and record data on client progress, ensuring accurate documentation for ongoing assessments and care plans.
- Provide support in behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors effectively.
- Teach social skills and communication techniques to help clients interact more successfully with peers and caregivers.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to reinforce strategies at home, ensuring a consistent approach across environments.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in behavioral health.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Certified Behavior Technician is required. Being a Registered Behavior Technician is preferred.
- Experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism, is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, and care plans related to behavioral health.
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and techniques, particularly Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating patience and empathy towards clients.
